Desde que se conocieron a través de las redes sociales durante la pandemia, las chicas de Conexión Divina se dieron a la misión de incurrir en el género sierreño y escribir letras con una tan necesitada perspectiva femenina en una industria aún dominada por hombres. “Todavía hay mucho machismo y estereotipos sobre las mujeres en la industria”, dijo la cantante Liz Trujillo en entrevista con Los Angeles Times. “Como ‘las mujeres no pueden tocar guitarra, no pueden cantar corridos’. Queremos romper con eso”. Sus canciones son viñetas sobre la vida como mujeres jóvenes de la Generación Z, con todos los desamores, vicisitudes y alegrías que esto conlleva. El sonido, una mezcla de estilos dentro de la música regional mexicana, ha logrado conectar con una audiencia que cruza líneas culturales, idiomáticas y sociales, y ha puesto a Conexión Divina en un escenario tan monumental como Coachella, haciendo historia como el primer grupo de sierreño compuesto por mujeres en tocar en el festival. Continuando su racha de logros históricos, fueron las únicas artistas de música regional mexicana nominadas para la categoría de Best New Artist en los premios Latin GRAMMY 2023, y ya han colaborado con Gabito Ballesteros y Los Aptos. Durante su estancia en Sevilla, Conexión Divina pasó por la Casa Salinas para cantar “Odio”, de su álbum debut ‘Tres Mundos’, y “Al No Tenerle” en exclusiva para Vevo.

Ever since they connected online during the pandemic, the members of Conexión Divina set out into the world, pens and guitars in hand, with a mission – injecting some much needed female talent and perspective in a male-dominated genre. “There’s still a lot of machismo in the industry, and stereotypes about women,” said singer Liz Trujillo in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. “Like, ‘Girls can’t play guitar, women can’t sing corridos.’ We want to break that.” Their songs offer vignettes about life as Gen Z women and members of the LGBTQ+ community, with all the relationship drama, hardships, and happiness that life entails. The sound, a fusion between different styles within the regional Mexican music genre, has connected with a passionate audience that crosses cultural, idiomatic and social barriers. The connection was almost instantaneous, quickly elevating the group onto Coachella’s monumental stage for a history-making performance as the first all-female sierreño group to play the festival. Continuing their record breaking streak, Conexión Divina was the only regional Mexican band to be nominated for Best New Artist at the 2023 Latin GRAMMYs, and they’ve collaborated with popular acts like Gabito Ballesteros and Los Aptos. During their stay in Seville, Conexión Divina came through our set at Casa Salinas to sing “Odio,” from their debut album ‘Tres Mundos,’ and “Al No Tenerle” exclusively for Vevo.
